88 The Narrow Road by Felix Dennis

88 The Narrow Road by Felix Dennis tells it like it is. This is a book for someone who wants to get rich and is happy to risk all in the process.

88 The Narrow Road by Felix Dennis

The poem on the back cover sets the scene for this book perfectly.

Those who tread the narrow road
Walk in single file -
Shadows plague each wary step,
Hazard haunts each mile.

This book pulls no punches. Felix Dennis is a successful multi-millionaire with a large publishing and digital-media empire, and it is obvious that he has a very direct and uncompromising style. It is also obvious that this book is slightly tongue-in-cheek, but that doesn't make it any less useful to the budding entrepreneur.

If you are easily offended, you won't like this book. If you are lazy, or full of excuses, you won't like this book. In fact, I suspect that most readers will take a dislike to the author, whilst also having a grudging respect for his experience and entrepreneurial abilities.

The number 88 in the title refers to the number of chapters; each one no more than a page or two in length yet teaching a valuable lesson in the accumulation of wealth.

Topics covered range from personality traits, through to common startup errors, raising capital, management, delegation, and more. Plenty of "Get Rich" books are written by people with no real business experience, whereas this is a distillation of the knowledge of a genuinely rich and successful businessman.

If you read this book you will either love it, or hate it. But either way I'm sure you will agree that it is a gold mine of knowledge, and one that will be kept close at hand by many future multi-millionaires.
